A Love Poem

-->

The way I miss you has made my life completely sad
One time I thought of you and nearly drowned in the shower
At one time I shouted your name in the dark
A cop on night patrol asked my name but yours came first
… He let me go - knowing I’m just lovesick.

For my eating habits nothing has changed a bit
Only it’s now bitter what once was sweet
And the best of my foods taste less the same as at first.
Or it turns cold when I’m in deep thought
… I am very sad, and it’s all because of you.

Fantasy is to think I can take you off my mind.
I do not sleep well,
I am not well…
Meeting you was the most addictive pill of my life.

To A Daughter, From a Poet

-->

My daughter I was not born a poet
But I could feel something welling in my heart.
Sometimes it was like a song under rhythm of a drumbeat,
Something that slept deeply in my gut
It was like a song that
Forced me to read and write
To read each day and night
And learn much from a single sight.
This is poetry my daughter, and if you learn to see like that
You too, have become a poet.

Observe the times and write on your heart
Write what you see and don’t mind what is right
And when you begin to think in your mind
You will find in your heart is a faint sound
A sound of patience, a clock, the sound of time
Tick, tock, tick… now start to write the mind thinks in rhyme
Write on paper and share with a lonely heart
For the world will always be lonely till you learn all that
You know, you believed and you write.

Letter to Unique.

-->

Unique

…what you see around you are not ordinary people, all of them are extraordinary people living an ordinary life. Suppressed within each and every one of them are dreams and abilities that can transform our small wild world into a paradise of splendor and happiness. Yes, this world is full of golden vessels, precious people. But what is important is not the majesty without, but what the vessel embraces deep within. That is why I say this to you, that in this life break yourself and, please, let the one in you go. Don’t suppress your self by failing to believe in yourself – and no-one can believe in you till you do. Don’t persecute the dreams you have dreamt by day and never despise the hope of life that your soul has embraced – for dreams are maps of life sent to make life make sense, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. If your soul can still see that light, follow that hope. For the heart knows further than the eye has ever been.
When you feel encroaching despair, remember these words for I have learnt them and testify that they are true.

Dear, dear, dear one
Look again into your life and now never say you can’t
Laugh, live on and dream to be great
It is the aspirations of your heart
That will set your talents free.

Through the tough and the good times, the hailstorm and the sunshine – be you at peace and face life expecting victory. For both good and bad, love and hate, holy or evil have always been from the conception of times, but neither has wiped off the human race. Those who have chosen evil pass away like shadows that disappear when night comes, but those who have chosen good are lights of time – they shine bright through the darkness and by day the sun is their friend. Nothing can destroy one who has made good a friend.

Now again of the dreams you dream; beware with whom you share them. Some see dreams foolish yet even life was born from the invisible. Some despise our dreams, some fight and some steal them – all because they wish they were sole dreamers and achievers. Dreams dear one, are seeds of all achievement.

And I also wish to assure, that I believe in you. I have not known you much but I believe. You dreamt it, so you can do it. And no-one can see it the way you saw it, or feel for it the way you do. And you too, believe in yourself, for the God that you believe in also believes in you. And remember, dreams don’t die – they are only forgotten. Soon they surface to mind when our lifetime is spent and we begin to regret. But even in such a state if you still breathing, your mission is not over. Waste no-more time wallowing in the mud of regret asking alms of pity, but rise up and fulfill the hopes that keep spurring your heart.
I say this because I am a dreamer too. I dream of a ministry that will minister life to each and every soul on our cosmopolitan world and bring happiness and true life for all. I dream of a united Africa, and a non-orphan world…so much that I can’t tell it all without taking your interest away.
I know this has and still does demands much effort.
But as I said, they are a making my life make sense.
Every book that falls into my hands, each episode on screen contributes to the fruition of my dreams, so I realize.
And over years they become so close to you (if you embrace them) that they show through your eyes, your voice and movement of your lips. Now when you pass by people shall proclaim you “great”. They think they see you, but it’s the aspirations you embrace within that are shaping your values without.

However, to dream is one thing to live is another.
Life is tough. There are no opportunities you just have to make them, sometimes.
And the people who love you, can never love you enough.
And those that wish you down are many.
So walk circumspectly, not as a fool. Redeem the times for the days are evil. Be as wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove.
And let the words of Christ dwell in you richly.
Only therein shall you grow yourself unshakable, immovable and everlasting.

Don’t pretend. Neither imitate you anyone. Imitation is limitation. In trying to be others we lose being ourselves, and fail to be others as well. What will surprise this world is uniqueness, not uniformity. Let the world see your uniqueness, the uniqueness of your endowments.

What you do not understand ask. Whether they be matters of the heart or matters of the spirit, all answers begin with questions. Neither Wiseman nor fools are born learned. At twelve, our Lord Jesus was known not for wise words but for asking questions. Ask, and you shall seem a fool a short time – but be quiet and you shall remain a fool forever. It is the questions you ask that really determine dreams you shall make real. Success is when your life answers questions.

My writing has been too long.
I wish to write a special one talking about being the right one before meeting one who is right. All I can say is the day you choose to love, is just as important as the day were born. You can live and celebrate everyday of it, or you can die and be forgotten for-ever - your aspirations and abilities plunged into a mistaken institute of despair. But that can be avoided and love can be real.

Write to me, I wish to hear from you soon.

Your friend

Who will Stand Up In This Time

-->

Who will stand up in this time?
When the living do not mind life
Who will stand up firm and fight?
For the cause of all man’s race
Little child of innocence
Judged to die before she is born,
She can’t talk, but she kicks to cry
Who shall her scream inside?

Who will stand up in this world?
Where the living live as dead
Those to love and care for you
Are the ones hurting you
She’s a little child, pretty helpless girl
Now she is bleeding – Papa won’t stop
Blood on the floor, blood in her mind
Blood she saw the night before mama died

Who will stand up in this time?
And plant love in hate and war
Who will stand up for the poor?
Though poor the deserve to be free
Who will make us live as one?
Make all happy in this world we share

To make a change
To make life worth living
To brighten with smiles
And stop the baby crying
To make our house a home
Again we be a family
Who will stand up today?
Stand up for the world cause.

Paradise Love

->
If words could make you be with me right now
Just would I whisper your name
And to your heart the wind would carry my call.

If pain could be described so much that you felt it too
The wound on my heart I would have shared with you
And you would know how painful it is to live missing you.

If you could imagine how happy we could have been
Come back, you would
And we would start all over as we were young.

Now I have grown and seen
Life is bumping on painful rocks; stepping on pricking thorns
Besides everything I have found
You were the one happiness my life bumped into.

So if I could turn back the hands of time
I would go back to the past and hold you close
I wouldn’t let you go

If I was our blameless God
Without anything in the past that I might have lied
I know you would easily believe me.

If both of us were not people
We would have been friends without need to explain…

O! If, If…if and if!
I say if out of loss and grief!
For time we could have found and shared our life!
Had the world been able to keep us safe.

You Are Always Here (When I am Alone)

You creep into my mind when I am relaxed
You invade my dreams
Your sweet voice insists like a midnight knock on my heart
You bring me back to life, when I am lost in deep thoughts
…though far from sight
You are close to mind dearest.

That Winter-Wind is My Only Friend

That Winter is my only friend

That freezing morning
When I broke in tears
When I needed a shoulder to lean on
No-one stood by me
No-one was concerned.

Yet one thing I know
That freezing morning
When to feeble where my limbs to wipe those tears off my face
The strong-cold winter-wind blew by me
It blew all my tears away.

I don’t know who, for me, has ever cared
I don’t care who will ever do
But that wind,
Whether strong or be it winter cold
Stood by me when I sought a friend

I am packing my belongings
I am leaving
You need not know where I go, nor swear a visit
I am tired of being deceived – I know I don’t have any other friend
Except that cold winter-wind that blows!

Anyway,
Why hope I that you can feel like visiting
For my life is still tears tears,
I know you all will love me someday,
Someday when my life is all parties and happiness.

Till then so let it be!

But the day that I die
Bury me not among you
Burn me to dust and ashes
Let the strong wind blow me away
He is my only friend

Winter-Wind knows the place of my grave.
